I have now been training in The Master Wong System for almost 7 years. Taking only a short time to grasp the foundation of Master Wong’s Wing Chun System, I decided to train to become an instructor. With this decision made, I began training six and sometimes seven days a week.
The training I undertook was very intense and all of it full contact. We train full contact in order to make the training as intense and realistic as possible and this way we are able to get the most benefit from it. Fortunately the pads and protection we use are of a very high standard. Even more fortunate is the fact that the standard of training is of an even higher standard!
Another unique aspect of the Master Wong System is the Master Wong Training DVD’s we have available. Having this source to train from and refer back to is essential for a Master Wong Instructor. It ensures that we learn correctly and do not teach things that aren’t supposed to be taught within a system because students are always able to check back from the main source, Master Wong himself.
Once I was nearing instructor level I began training in various other systems: JKD Bodyweapon, Tai Chi Combat and San Shou. This made my training regime even more intensive but also far more enjoyable. This helped me greatly in becoming a better all around martial artist.
Becoming an instructor has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Through the training I have become a much stronger person both physically and mentally. I am a far more confident person and I now have a clear vision of the things I would like to achieve throughout my life.
I am now also a qualified Personal Trainer and Sports Massage Therapist and Nutritional Advisor. Having this additional knowledge about the body and how it works helps greatly with my martial arts training.
If anybody out there is looking to better themselves or their life in any way I would highly recommend training in the Master Wong System.
