I began training in Tong Bei Kungfu form with Master  Wong at age 19. The traditional way of training is very hard on the body and Sifu was always very hard on me, so in the early days I sometimes used to wonder if I was doing the right thing or just torturing myself. But as my body began to develop and I was able to do things I could never do before I realised that when Sifu shouted it was because he cared and when he pushed me it was so I could reach my potential. I discovered I was learning not only about my body and Kungfu but also about life and about myself and I will always be grateful to Master Wong because of that. As the years past I progressed on to learn Wing Chun close quarter combat, Tai Chi and many other aspects of the Master Wong System.
I know teach classes in Wing Chun & Tai Chi @ Fitness First in Ipswich every Wednesday night from 8-10pm.
Since I began my training with Master Wong in 1999 we a have gone from lessons in the back room of his restaurant to community centres and local gyms, running a successful Kungfu academy in the town centre and now a purpose built training facility in Ipswich where Sifu holds regular training courses. I would recommend attending our training courses in Ipswich which include Wingchun, Tai chi and JKD body weapon to anyone who is serious about getting into martial arts. I have been many places in the world to train martial arts and I can say without question that Sifu Wong is the best Teacher I have ever had in all aspects training and mentoring. So get yourself on one of the weekend courses in Ipswich or your may miss the opportunity to train with one of the last “true” masters.
